Expat Life: My Accent

I speak funny. Like everyone else, I have an accent. But apparently mine is particularly different.

Here are some questions I have gotten over the last year:

Are you from London?

Are you European?

Is your accent Irish?

I love your accent. Are you from Scotland?

Wow, your voice is cool, and you from Norway?

New Zealand? Wow! That's by Finland ain't it?

Put another shrimp on the Barbie mate! Oh what? You aren't Australian? Where are you from? Oh, we'll that's close enough. 

Oh, New Zealand... Lord of the Rings right? 

New Zealand.. Does that make you German? (I am not making this up people)

And my personal favorite...

Are you from Mississippi? 

Hahahaha I hope it don't sound mean, it just cracks me up. So much variety. So far one person has guessed New Zealand. The most common guess is England and Scotland. Then Australia. I have certainly never felt so unique. Often it isn't till we are in another country that we realize how fascinated people are by it. And it is certainly entertaining!
