Op Shop Show Off: Ze Tray

A couple of Sundays ago Rach and I took a whole day to shop for vintage and antique finds. I found this beauty at an antique store on 19th St in the Heights. Wow, such a beautiful store full of amazing glassware and beautiful finds.

I just adore this tray, it is now looking after my threads and cross stitch work. And it is so pretty sitting in our lounge. Don't you just love the floral!

Yay.

I bought so many lovely dresses, I can't wait to style them for the blog and to wear them around!

Here is what I wore!

So I bought this from the Hospice Shop in Whakatane for $6, I absolutely fell for it, because the pattern - well look at it! I love the blue and the lemon! Here are some shots Rob got of me tidying in the kitchen.

Op Shop Show Off - Retro Scarf

For this weeks Op Shop Show off I am sharing my favorite accessory from our summer time trip home! I got the cutest scarf in the Hospice Shop in Whakatane. It was $5 and I wore it sooo many days! Who can be bothered styling hair when you are on holiday right?! I just love it, and it looks so sweet and retro on.

Op Shop Show Off

Heya!

For this weeks Op Shop Show off I am excited to be bragging about this super sweet little sugar bowl.. It cost like $2.50 from a little market in a wee town in Texas, and it makes the sweetest little planter!

What do you think? I love it!

Thrifting in Houston

We are doing the Color Run tomorrow so we took a trip to the thrift store to get some goofy running clothes...

Of course I took the opportunity to go on a mini thrift spree. As usual thrifting in America provided me with many bargains.. Can't wait to share all my pretty pieces but here are a few pics in the mean time!

And yes, there are a few selfies in the lot :p

Confession - I like shoulder pads. And I love pink. And I love a $3.90 bargain!

I get a buzz from thrift shopping. I admit it.

I think this dress was $4.. It is absolutely perfect (I love me some polka dot action).

This maxi dress was $7 (pricey! haha) - it is dark red and maroon, in the store I was picturing it with my leather jacket - and I am happy with the result!

Just got this out of the drier.. The jersey was $3 and the infinity scarf was $1.

Self indulgent iPhone selfie. Damn I love that scarf.

Can't wait to share photos from the color run tomorrow! I have the daggiest outfit haha

Hope y'all had a good Saturday!

Saturday brunch polka dots

I was super excited to try out one of my new thrifting finds this morning.

We met good friends of ours at Baby Barnaby's in Montrose. Houstonians really like brunch. So much so that they are happy to cue for it. As a non egg eating lady, I don't see the appeal. But none the less it was great to catch up with them.

Super scarlet color! And polka dots!

It also seemed like the perfect opportunity to try out my new scarlet and white, polka dot dress. I really love it. It is really light and cool which is pretty vital in this muggy tail end of summer here in Houston. Its a little loose, but with the wait cinched in at the middle it fits great. And, I think the color is just stunning. Not bad for .95 cents!

Love my new dress!

What do you think?
I hope y'all had a great Saturday morning!

I couldn't help snapping a few shots of these overgrown bushes. I just love how Montrose looks. A combination of old villas and lush greenery. A little piece of island paradise in a sprawling urban centre.
